- My music video is different to a conventional music video as, although it tells a narrative like most music videos, the lip syncing within my music video is not as conventional as instead of getting a male artist to lip sync the words (as they are sung my a male vocalist) or included a 'band' in the video, I have instead chosen to have the female actress lip sync the words as if she is mimicking what the vocalist is saying.
- I felt that by doing this I would be able to give my music video a unique look but also keep hold of some of the traditional conventions.
- Unlike most music video, my video is quiet disjointed in the story it tells and whilst this might make it hard for the audience to follow what is happening in the video i felt that it made the video more interesting than just using a simple narrative or contemporary video to fit the song.
- My music video is very different to the music video's I analysed in on my planning blog as they had quiet simple structures and story lines. I feel that my video is closer to that of Ed Sheeran's give me love as the story line jumps between lots of different locations and time frames.
I have used several different time frames within my video to make it more interesting for the audience. In order to show that some of the clips are meant to be in the past I have put them in extreme slow motion and put the clips in black and white and used the old film effect.
This use of different time frames also allows my video to fit with the tempo of the music that is in my music video, with some of the clips in slow motion to fit with longer drawn out notes and others clips being sped up in order to fit with faster parts of the song.
I used a variety of camera shots within my video with a lot of the beginning of the video being made up of close ups and medium close ups, whilst the shots nearer the end of the video are mainly long shots or extreme long shots of the girl walking through different locations.
